Fire Brigade locks and padlocks are used in communal areas such as dry risers, utility cupboards, car parks and bin stores where authorised personnel and emergency services can gain access using common keys.

FB1 and FB2 rim locks are UK Fire Brigade approved surface mounted deadlocks which are specified in areas where the Fire Brigade can gain access in an emergency situation without breaking in the door.

The deadbolt, which is operated with the key from either side, has a 14mm throw.

Keys are not supplied but are available to order separately.

If in doubt consult the local authorities to ensure you choose the correct FB key number used by the local fire brigade.

FB rim locks are handed: 

• For a door hinged on the left when viewed from inside use a left hand FB rim lock.
• For a door hinged on the right when viewed from inside use a right hand FB rim lock.
